But getting your fix of noodles, rice and the various other dishes sold on the streets of this country is not just about that all-important cheap eat. It's about the taste, the setting and most importantly, the custom.
In this short film, Yves Schiepek brings together some of the street food dishes available in Saigon. From banh xeo - shrimp and pork pancakes - through to two noodle dishes coming from Hoi An, mi quang and cao lau, the video gives a sense of what eating on the street is like in Vietnam.
