Lovers of Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninov’s symphonies will be politely rattling their jewellery at the news of a performance of his works at the Hanoi Opera House in August.

 

Internationally renowned pianist Guigla Katsarava will be joined by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vietnamese conductor Le Phi Phi to give classical music lovers renditions of Piano Concerto No.2 C minor Op.18 and Symphonic Dance Op.45. Le Phi Phi studied in Russia and played across Europe before returning to his homeland in 1995.

 

The performance will take place on Aug. 17 and Aug. 18 from 8pm at the Hanoi Opera House, 1 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem. Tickets are priced at VND200,000, VND350,000 and VND500,000 and are available for advance purchase on www.ticketvn.com
